Description

this is China and Philippines, with Chinese foodies

:bulletorange:Pancit

Pancit or pansit is the term for noodles in Filipino cuisine. Noodles were introduced into the Philippines by the Chinese and have since been adopted into local cuisine. The term pancit is derived from the Hokkien pian i sit (Chinese: 便ê食; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: piān-ê-si̍t or Chinese: 扁食; pinyin: biǎn shí) which means "something conveniently cooked fast.

:bulletorange:Lumpia

Lumpia are pastries of Chinese origin similar to fresh popiah or fried spring rolls popular in Southeast Asia. The term lumpia derives from Hokkien lunpia (Chinese: 潤餅; pinyin: rùnbǐng; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: jūn-piáⁿ, lūn-piáⁿ), which is an alternate term for popiah. The recipe, both fried and fresh versions, was brought by the Chinese immigrants from the Fujian province of China to Southeast Asia and became popular where they settled in Indonesia and the Philippines.

:bulletorange:Siopao

Siopao (Chinese: 燒包; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: sio-pau) is a Hokkien term for bāozi (包子), literally meaning "hot wrap" (with sio being hot and pao meaning some sort of wrap) .It has also been incorporated in to Thai cuisine where it is called salapao (Thai: ซาลาเปา).

tnx for correcting me :iconnuvolasolitaria:

A popular food item in the Philippines and Thailand, siopao and salapao do not require utensils to eat and can be consumed on-the-go. Like bāozi, there are different varieties based on stuffing: Asado or bola-bola (which may use pork, chicken, beef, shrimp or salted duck eggs). There is also a baked variety.

:bulletorange:Siomai

Shumai, also called pork dumplings (although oftentimes other types of dumplings could also be filled with pork), is a type of traditional Chinese dumplings served in dim sum.
